How to Buy Low Priced Bank Repo Cars in Atlanta Ga

My name is Greg Smokes and I have been involved with repo car auctions in Atlanta since the 90s. I wanted to provide some tips and advice based on my own experiences to help you get started.

So what exactly is a “bank repo car auction“? If you are imagining late model cars being sold for pennies on the dollar, that is not the case — however, that is not all that far from reality.

Let’s be real: auto auctions aren’t filled with shiny, new cars. It’s a mix of used vehicles that might need a little TLC, with some hidden gems sprinkled in. But one thing you can count on is low prices. Whether you’re exploring live auctions or online bank repo auctions, it’s worth checking them out.

If you approach it more realistically, you can buy a used car for around thirty to fifty cents on the dollar. ATL bank repo auctions are mostly open to the public and do not require any sort of dealer’s license to buy a bank repo car. Most car auctions in GA hold their auctions weekly and also feature online bidding via internet car auctions.

So what is the catch? Like any cheap car, you obviously want to look it over and inspect it thoroughly before to try to buy at an repo car auction in Atlanta, Ga.

Most of these cars were repossessed from customers with delinquent loans, meaning they are usually in running condition and not just a used car that was dumped on someone’s lot. These days, most of the cheaper bank repo cars in Ga come from title pawn stores such as TitleMAX or TitleBucks, around the metro Atlanta area (Marietta, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Johns Creek, etc).

In my experience here in Atlanta, most bank repo auctions are a breeze. They don’t hit you with any upfront fees or crazy requirements just to buy a car. You’ll only pay a fee if you actually win the auction.

But hey, it’s always a smart move to call the auction house first if you have any questions. I’ve found that the folks running these things are usually pretty helpful.

If you know what to look for, you can buy a bank repo in Atlanta for a lot less than you would on Craigslist or a car lot

Check out bank repo inventories online with pictures. Some repo cars sell for as low as $800. Finding a good deal under $2000 is not unheard of.  It is very important to research the cars you are interested in bidding on.

Now, you’ll find some real winners at Atlanta’s repo and wholesale car auctions, but I always do my homework first. It’s important to get a good look at any car you’re interested in and check its history before you even think about raising your hand. The good news is, you’ll have plenty of time to kick the tires and do your research before the auction starts.
